SO!

The Zerg pieces are still coming, I've got the overlord started and am looking forwards to getting further into the tech tree BUT in the meantime I've also evened up the balance with some Diablo stuff; so enjoy it!

First off the Grotesque...

And a female Barbarian; I figured she could do with a little more armour than the official Blizz piece gives her (that's even less protection (well, not more, in any case) than Red Sonja's chainmail bikini!).

Not someone you'd wanna piss off, methinks.

Yeah I have to agree with Webnet, the Blizzard picture looks so lame after looking at MrJack's Barb hehe.

You really made her look brutal unlike the Blizzard one. Great job there!

First off I cannot draw for my life, but I can critique because I love art and design and when it comes to medieval armor and how it functions I am the man.
But starting off with the huge sack filled grosteque thing. I love how the color of the skin is the light blue shade. and the bottom to where the body is lightly spewing out small eels. I was wondering Mr Jack, would be possbile to show that the skin is busting at the seem and deadish. Take for instance because that creature may be rotting, show some puss or maybe some breaks in certain parts, because this thing literaly is a mess of stuff. I love it though.

For the Barbarian,I love how you went from huge detail at the top and fades as we look down. I love how she is strong and looks ready for battle. I was wondering, wouldn't barbarians be armed tooth and nail in every which way, having small boot daggers. Just curious - Overall you are like a millions time better, but i love the design.

Oh, I thought you'd be working on the Mutalisk rather than the Overlord. As a fanatic lover of the Zerg Overlord, it's good to hear that.

By the way, do you have plans to draw the Skeleton King later, by any chance?

I certainly appreciate a female barbarian that looks realistic and not like she's some little girl in barbaric armor on a photo shoot. :P

I don't know, is there something in the Diablo lore about that? The generic (Conan) barbarian is usually low armored and he relies on his main weapon, although extra weapons and shields are possible, but daggers and stuff seem more of an assassin/special agent thing. I'm also quite certain real barbarians didn't bother with that.

I look at in a historical sense, so a berserker running into battle with practically no armor in key areas, makes no sense. Barbarians and the horde from Gal, they wore armor everywhere, they covered themselves. I don't mind the fantasy idea of how warriors go charging in. I firmly believe there is a major difference between berserker and barbarian, berserkers are the whirlwind of flesh and blades in a battle.

Barbarians I see are tacticians, they will bring weapons they are proficient with small arms and larger ones. So the barb would have his two hander and small axe, but in his boot or his belt would have smaller blades, and other weapons, so in case his larger arms are down he can still kill with efficiency. So just a thought.
