dude, what the hell, how do you go from gladiator type creature to that being the name of the barbarian. no, absolutli not, the barbarian was never called gladiator type, if you see something labeling something else, that is what it is labeling. it would be like me saying, OMG DIABLO, THAT MUST HAVE BEEN THE ORIGINAL NAME OF THE WITCHDOCTOR!!!! stop giving false data, if its not false, then give us the source. close thread please. ---------------------------

Diablo's lore is diverse, and simplicity does away with half the work we need to understand the story. It's a very high probability that they considered that name before deciding on Barbarian. --------------------------- Robert H. I just find his logic for thinking about it extreamly stupid. how do you go from gladiator type creature to that being a character, I mean it says CREATURE. also, sorry about the last post, I was in a bad mood, Im not one to shut people down like that, ask basicly everyone who who hes been here along time. ---------------------------

Took me a while to work it out, I was expecting a pic a bit more like the other barbarian images. I wouldn't have been surprised if they had considered gladiator as a class name, but if that's all the evidence there is I don't think there's any chance of it given the obviously demonic nature of the creature. It'd just be a different style of enemy, and I'm guessing the name's referring to the asymmetrical shoulder-armour. ---------------------------  |

Dumbman, JEEZ! you are kinda a jerk. Anyway, They HAVE said that they originally had another name for the Barbarian, and I believe they do build enemies around a class. Like a warrior class monsters, or an aura type monster being a paladin class in abilities. Or any mage type caster class. This is purely speculation, but a very physical class that had similar skills of a barbarian....gladiator makes sense to me. But I also agree with blizzard that renaming a class purely for a new name when it introduces no new mechanics is silly. |

He apologized and, although sometimes a member might be rude with you, there is a Guideline (just below the reply box) and a rule about respect. Being treated in a bad way does not allow you to give the same kind of responses. He was responding to someone who lashed out at him. Perhaps he missed the apology? It is certainly understandable when someone is upset that they could just hit reply instead of reading the rest of the thread. Cut the guy some slack. its an interestin idea yes, but the logic behind it still is absolutly flying past my head, I just cant wrap around it, I think he just looked too deeply into a simple thing. ---------------------------
