The in-game models could look a tad more malicious, and the tone of their skin should be blood red instead of bright red-orange. --------------------------- "Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you."-Friedrich Nietzsche |

Eldius - May 22, 02:02 PM The in-game models could look a tad more malicious, and the tone of their skin should be blood red instead of bright red-orange. I'd like to remind you that red was not the only color of Fallen. They were also blue, green (elites), black, and bronze. Point being, they aren't supposed to be any color really... it's whatever they thought was best. I personally like how they look. I'm curious as to how these new creatures look up next to the heroes - to get some sort of scaling in how big they are in respect to the rest of the Diablo world. I do, however, hope that they aren't so bright when put on a natural background. I feel that the light brown really didn't do justice to how they would truly look in game. Cheers. |

Pretty noice :D Though yes, no real surprises since they're straight from d2, but very nicely done for all that. Love the Lunatic, of course, and the Overseer's pretty cool. As to them being too bright in-game, here's something to put your mind at rest http://us.media.blizzard.com/1901200114/_images/screenshots/ss86-hires.jpg (not that you wouldn't've seen it, probably, being on the same page and all). As for them being more 'menacing' here's what Bashiok had to say — The fallen are definitely our 'goofiest' demons. I sort of see them as the comedy relief of the Diablo franchise. Except you get to stab them. They're small impish guys, mischievous, not very brave, little voices that talk really fast and seem to only be able to recount the names of other fallen. They're goofy looking, sort of oddly shaped, tubby little guys running on short little legs. They're about as far as we want to push any sort of sillyness in the game though. But for that, they're perfect. I don't think anyone ever took the Fallen very serious. They shouldn't be, they're little annoying imps. If we push to that extreme too much though then the game's not taken seriously enough, and if anything this is a dark and very serious game. But, at the same time, you want some breaks. We don't want to constantly bombard the player with the grotesque or else that too sort of loses some of its punch. Of course, and I'm quoting our associate producer Nathan on this, "The Overseer rolls seven popped collars deep." So there's still definitely some bad-assery to be had with the Fallen. --------------------------- ![]() |

That is just fantastic. Provided that I can somehow manage to get a ticket to Blizzcon, I'd love to play the demo in order to kill them for myself. I want to know how they scream. lol --------------------------- "Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you."-Friedrich Nietzsche |

That's kind of entertaining. I always kind of liked the Fallen ones back in Act I. They spoke some interesting languages(I can still make out when they yell "Rajajiju." God knows what they mean). I'm guessing they'll now be kind of more than what we remember, especially the Lunatics. Wonder if we'll be encountering any of fully re-powered Fallen ones(or whatever their name before they were diminished was). I'm of course placing a firm bet on the positive. I kind of like the Hounds. Are they the same as other two-legged Fallen ones? (Kind of reminds me of Squigs..) They look like.. a cross between a boar and a dog. And do I love thos kind of crossing. By the way, I'm more interested in what looks like the female version of the fourth character class in one of the screenshots. --------------------------- And the Heavens shall tremble. |

As for them being more 'menacing' here's what Bashiok had to say — I almost laughed out loud at that screenshot. It's in such stark contrast to what their early screenies depicted. I'm sure they thought of this due to the stink many die-hard fans rose when they saw the too-colorful art direction. My concern was not with the color palate they used, moreover, it was my idea of what colors should be seen in the natural world of Sanctuary. The brilliant neon colors for elite-spawns of monsters that were added in Diablo 2's patch 1.09 seemed a little off-key. I feel that they have really taken the values in shades of color into consideration and it really shows with each additional screenshot. |

Interesting, I actually really like how they're looking, I always love the bestiary updates and the writings of Abd Al-Hazir they're fun to read and give a good insight to how the lore is going to be presented I feel. --------------------------- I've got the brightest star you'll ever find...even the sun is jealous of the way you shine. |

Maybe he is even the archivist??? I can surely picture Abd Al-Hazir aka the archivist in that escape from the triune cultist ritual on the forest!!! ;) --------------------------- Reaper (*cocky*): the grim Reaper has arrived! Yeah but didn't he "disappear" after that? Because it said that this is the last known piece of writing available from him or something? Nonetheless I'm totally psyched for this game. --------------------------- I've got the brightest star you'll ever find...even the sun is jealous of the way you shine. |

agreeing with Spellbound—where'd you see that? As far as I can tell it's male Barb, Wizard of indeterminate sex and female Wizard... Also, I'm curious if their other original relatives — blue Carvers, brownish Devilkin or the black Dark Ones will make a return as well, perhaps with more difference than just, well, a hue shift? --------------------------- ![]() |

What you called Wizard of indeterminate sex. I don't think it's the Wizard. Oh, on second thoughts, I think it'd be the placeholder model that Jay (Wilson, that is) said the fourth class uses. --------------------------- And the Heavens shall tremble. |

That looks like the male wizard (doesn't seem to be very 'bossomy'...) - and if that's a placeholder model, then why screenshot it at all? Other than to sow condusion, it would be best to wait for the model itself to be ready. I'm sure it's a male wizard. ---------------------------
